چکیده
Wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) technology is a special electrothermal processing method that can precisely production of parts with variable stiffness sharp edges or complex geometric which are difficult to produce by traditional manufacturing methods. It has an important place in sector terms low energy consumption. In this study, the relationship between parameters on surface quality ferritic ductile cast iron (GGG-40) material WEDM process molybdenum wire was investigated Response Surface Methodology (RSM). The aim study determine optimum for low-cost GGG-40 sharp-edged and geometry using method. experimental works, roughness, time were table feedrate, pulse time, space as cutting parameters. surfaces obtained result experiments evaluated Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), roughness device. According findings, it been observed increased increasing decreased increasing. Also, understood most factor effecting quality. found depends only federate where they inversely proportional. As RSM analysis, lowest best time/performance condition both process.

Prediction of Surface Roughness in Wire Electric Discharge Machining (WEDM) Process based on Response Surface Methodology
This paper presents an investigation on WEDM of pure titanium (grade-2). An attempt has been made to model the response variable i.e. surface roughness in WEDM process using response surface methodology. The experimental plan is based on Box-Behnken design. Six parameters i.e. pulse on time, pulse off time, peak current, spark gap voltage, wire feed and wire tension has been varied to investiga...

Due to coming emission legislations, the temperature is expected to increase in heavy-duty diesel engines, specifically in the hot-end of the exhaust system affecting components, such as exhaustand turbo manifolds. Since the current material in the turbo manifold, a ductile cast iron named SiMo51, is operating close to its limits there is a need for material development in order to maintain a h...

متن کاملEffect of Dynamic Strain Aging on Isothermal (473K) Low Cycle Fatigue of Ferritic Ductile Cast Iron
The ferritic ductile iron (FCD400) is widely used as industrial material. As regards to its high temperature application, fatigue at elevated temperature, and advanced mechanical properties has been investigated and clarified. In low cycle fatigue (LCF), the S-N curve is presented by the relation of plastic strain to the number of cycles as fatigue life, which can be predicted by the Manson-Cof...
متن کاملFatigue Performance of Forged Steel and Ductile Cast Iron Crankshafts
Fatigue is the primary cause of failure of crankshafts in internal combustion engines. The cyclic loading conditions and the stress concentrations in the crank pin fillets are unavoidable, and can result in fatigue failure. The objectives of this study were to compare the fatigue behavior of forged steel and ductile iron crankshafts from a one-cylinder engine as well as to determine if the fati...
